Prices are filled in from the US Nintendo eShop each day, including sales. Change any of them to match what you see, for example a boxed copy at a store.
Questions people ask
Should I buy the upgrade pack or the Switch 2 Edition?
If you already own the Switch 1 version digitally, the upgrade pack is almost always cheaper. If you own a physical copy, selling it and buying the Switch 2 Edition can cost less than the pack, and you're not tied to keeping the old cartridge in the console. If you don't own the game yet, compare the Switch 1 price plus the pack against the Switch 2 Edition.
Do I need the Switch 1 cartridge to play an upgraded game?
Yes. An upgrade pack unlocks the Switch 2 version, but with a physical Switch 1 copy the cartridge has to be in the console to play it. Digital copies don't have that problem.
Do I have to upgrade at all?
No. Nearly every Switch 1 game runs on Switch 2 as it is. The upgrade adds things like sharper resolution, a steadier frame rate or new content, depending on the game.
